This is a workshop I have been developing for the past several months. I had my first opportunity to host one through an official platform called Free School PDX. The workshop is interactive and walks students through the five elements of branding: brand, consumer, branding, marketing, and sales.

I tested this workshop with against a wide variety of brands. The brands ranged from portable luxury toilets to pick up artists and everything in between. One common feature was how wildly each individuals’ definition of these five elements were.

Below are the definition I use to simplify and explain these elements of branding.

  • Brand (What is being sold)

  • Consumer (Who you are receiving $$ from)

  • Branding (The unique aspects you need people to remember about how you deliver your brand)

  • Marketing (Introduction point for your brand)

  • Sales (Where the reputation of a brand is built)
